About this accessory
A bare RTL-SDR dongle hears a lot of noise with its signal. This set is the standard fix: a wideband low-noise amplifier (with bias-tee power, so the dongle feeds it over the coax) that lifts weak signals out of the noise floor, and a band-pass filter that rejects the strong out-of-band transmitters — FM broadcast, pagers, GSM — that otherwise overload the front end and scrub real reception. Two filter variants are included: an FM-band stop filter for general listening, and an ADS-B pass filter at 1090 MHz that sharpens aircraft tracking noticeably. Fit the filter inline before the dongle and the LNA at the antenna, and reception quality steps up across the board.
